Car rental
When renting a car, please remember that these lovely white-washed villages were built at a time when the only means of transport was by foot or by mule or horse and hence sometimes have narrow lanes and tight corners. Please also be careful when you use GPS in the villages for navigation as it can lead you into tight spots, barely wide enough for a donkey.
Parking in the village
The house is located at the older, lower part of the village. There is limited parking about 15m from the house but at times it may be difficult to park there, however it is always possible to unload. We normally park at the top of the village and walk down unless for unloading. There is free parking at the top of the village either in the dedicated car park or on the road. One route from the carpark goes through the village and down a steep but short hill (all paved) and the other route through the orange and olive groves is flat except for a very short steep section. This path is also paved. Both routes to the house take between 5-10mins.
Accessibility for small children, wheelchairs, elderly or infirm
The house was not specifically designed with young children in mind, however, we have previously had families with young children or babies at the house. There are steps and stairs both inside and outside and the terraces are all paved. There is of course the pool which may present a danger to children but you can lock all the doors when you are not outside. There is a microwave as well as oven, hob and kettle for ease of preparing childrens food. The bathrooms have baths as well as showers for ease of bathing children. There are no cots or high chairs in the house but these can be provided by our local agent on advance request.
Due to the location of the village and the nature of the property with steps and stairs, the house is not suitable for wheelchairs, the elderly or infirm.
